Dear Honey Run Friends,
This winter has been a reminder that winter weather has not disappeared completely from our area. If you are like me and have enjoyed the past few years when we have had a light and mild winter, this year has been a shock to our system. I have behaved like a bear, and I have been hibernating trying to wait out the cold. On the upside, the days are getting longer with each passing day and the extreme cold has cleared the skies more than usual to allow us to see the sunshine in Ohio. If I am being honest, I am over it and ready for spring.
Based on the slower than usual occupancy at The Inn this winter I have concluded that many of you are doing the same as me and riding this winter blast out. While this is completely logical, I would encourage you not to miss another day at The Inn. The fireplaces are roaring, the Chef is creating food worthy of mention, and our team is ready to greet you and provide for you a retreat that is much needed (if you are anything like me).
Looking out the windows at the beautiful white blanket that has covered the forest provides a soothing picture reminiscent of a Norman Rockwell scene. The color of the bird’s feathers amongst the trees creates a stunning kaleidoscope view from the warmth of your private room through the large glass windows. There is simplicity and visual calming that occurs as you look through the forest at the bare trees with the vertical trunks and horizontal limbs weaving through your sightline. All is calm, and all is right as the forest enjoys its last month of winter before the rebirth of spring that will begin March 20th.
If you have not made plans to come to the Inn yet this year, I would encourage you to look at your calendar and carve out some time for yourself to come, rest, and refresh your body and soul. If you are reading this letter, you know how great The Inn at Honey Run is for a retreat from our busy lives. Don’t delay, we are ready to welcome you home to your home away from home.
Your tired of winter innkeeper,
Jason
What a soothing visual you have given from looking out the window. I just breathe deeply and wish I was there. Thank you!
