“August in The Garden is a busy time of year. Produce is ripening at a rapid pace and there never seems to be enough time to finish those big summer projects before fall swoops in. Luckily, I was able to carve out a few moments this afternoon to walk around this fenced-in oasis with camera in hand. The Heritage raspberries are coming on strong. Their weight bending the thorny branches to the ground. I picked five pints for Chef Bret and will have another five tomorrow. Our Concord (purple) and Himrod (green) grapes are just about ready for harvesting. I sampled a few and they are delicious! But my favorite part of The Garden remains the gourd tunnel. There is just something fun about it and I always enjoy walking through and looking up. I will be drying the gourds at the end of the season and a limited number will be available for sale in our gift shop!”
“Take time to appreciate your garden during this last month of summer. It will be cold and snowy before you know it!”
