Dear Honey Run Friends,
I forgot how spectacular the autumn sky can be with the deep, dark colors in the background of those puffy white clouds. It was the first full day of fall recently and I was driving down the road to pick up our mums and flowers for the fall displays. As I was traveling down County Road 203 in our company pickup, I was in awe of the beauty of the sky. It was a warm day with a slight cool crispness to the air. The sky appeared as though there was a storm on the horizon, but there was no storm on the radar. Just a reminder that summer has ended, and we have moved fully into autumn. Football games have resumed, the leaves are starting to fall, and the squirrels are bombing us with the husks of their treasured nuts from high above in the walnut trees. The sun is setting earlier as the nights claim more of the day. We are marching toward the quietness of fall and winter.
This year, more than most, I am ready for this fall-to-winter slumber. I am ready to slow down, sit by the fire, and practice the art of being. Being still. Listening to the sound of nothing with the expectation of hearing everything. Making the time to read a book and taking the time to be in the presence of my Creator. I love everything about the different seasons, and I especially appreciate how I am ready for the next season to begin after a few months of the current season.
It won’t be long before I am writing to you about the spring air and the warmth of summer again. I hope you enjoy the quietness of fall and have a moment to stop and smell the fresh air with that distinct smell of recently fallen leaves. I hope you can enjoy the wonderful saltiness of some home roasted pumpkin seeds and enjoy that crisp crunch of a ripe apple you plucked from the tree. I have to stop; I could do this all day.
Happy autumn days from your appreciative Innkeeper.
Jason
Hi Jason
I always enjoy reading your letters. We are looking forward to our visit next week.

Love these newsletters/letters. Keep them coming. I would have continued reading if you had not stopped writing.
Your description of the Fall day describes many here where awareness is heightened and Spirit close at hand. The only thing to do is to say “Thank you”, out into it and breathe it in.
