Dear Honey Run Friends,
During the dog days of summer one of my favorite things to do is to sit in the shade under the forest canopy and listen to the light summer breeze rustle the leaves of the trees as the birds sing and the insects provide their steady hum. God’s creation is marvelous and humbles me when I allow it to and place myself in my correct order of life.
In all the busyness of summer I stopped for a few moments in June just to be in the moment. I sat at the fire pit by the TreeTop pavilion and listened to the sweet melody of the birds. I looked up through the kaleidoscope like view through the trees to the sky and marveled at the shapes, colors, and movement towering above me. Most of all I was filled with a total sense of peace and calm. The Inn has a magical quality of offering serenity and a feeling of being in a different world the moment you step onto the resort grounds. Leave behind the bills, the work demands, the volunteering demands, family obligations, social gatherings, church duties, and all the other activities in life that consume your time. Take some time to go up the mountain to pray. While there are no mountains here there are hills and plenty of places to stop, enjoy nature, and connect with your Creator. I lose sight of this blessing at times, but I always find my way back, and when I do, I am never disappointed.
If you are in need of a respite, I pray you can find the time to find your sanctuary and release all the stress in this life. I pray you find some shade and stop to listen. You will be blessed with what you hear.
Your appreciative Innkeeper,
Jason
