Dear Honey Run Friends,
Autumn used to be my favorite season of the year, but as I am aging, I find summer to be my new favorite. There is something about everything being in full life. The forest is lush, the gardens are bursting with growth, the animals are flourishing, and recent animal births are growing fast. The gentle warm summer breeze accompanied by the bright sunshine energizes me and makes me want to move. The long days and star filled nights are comforting and calming. Yes, the heat can be too much at times, but I will take the heat over the frigid cold anytime.
I have been noticing the clouds these past few days. They are large, billowing, cotton balls filling the sky with gentle movement. They are mesmerizing and open the creative alleys of my mind. Sometimes I see shapes and other times chaos, but in all beauty.
Summer is a time to relax, connect with family and friends, and enjoy the weather before the winter slumber returns. Summer is also a time to slow down. To stop and sit by the water’s edge and listen to the creek water flowing over the rocks. It is a time to reflect and appreciate all that God provides us in this life.
I hope you are enjoying your summer season and savoring every moment of life that is afforded to you. I hope you have a place to retreat this summer and see the beauty of nature and can take some time to reflect on all the blessings in your life. I’m positive if you do, you will be full of gratitude.
Your summer enjoying Innkeeper,
Jason
What a lovely read! I also am enjoying summer the various birds that visit my yard, the bunnies, all of the beauty of God’s creation! Happy for the sunshine 🌞.
Beautiful post! I’ve been following for many years now and am finally in a financial position to visit with my near 80-year-old mom in July! We’ve booked a two night stay and cannot wait to see all of this in person. Clouds, creeks, community, the beauty of nature and all!
Great perspectives! Thanks for sharing!
