Dear Honey Run Friends,
I am overwhelmed by the beauty that spring brings to our little corner in northeast Ohio every year. As I write this, the leaves are beginning to grow, and the forest is coming alive from its winter slumber. I reviewed my previous notes in May, and this seems to be a common theme. I do not mean to belabor the point, but it is truly beautiful at The Inn at Honey Run this time of the year. The spring rains have the creek flowing steadily giving that magically soothing sound of the water encountering the rocks. The sky on the clear days is bright blue with fluffy white clouds and the kaleidoscope of color through the forest is returning. The temperature is always in question as it can be eighty degrees one day and then drop to the fifties the next keeping us on our toes. Spring is magical and such a blessing to witness.
Do you appreciate how few of these moments we get to experience in our life? If you are lucky and live to be one-hundred years old you would get one-hundred springs. And that is if you are lucky. I know we are all busy and life brings us countless challenges, but I pray that each of you has time to get away from your busy life, leave the city, and come and enjoy the absolute beauty of nature that God has blessed us with in this life. For me, when life’s walls are closing in and I can step out and breathe in the fresh air and gaze into the forest I am instantly calmed. I can feel the forest wrapping its arms around me and bathing me in its rebirth this spring. I pray that if you need this calming, and I would guess you do, I hope you can come and spend a few days with us at the Inn and allow your body and soul to relax and reconnect.
Happy spring from your nature appreciating Innkeeper,
Jason
