Dear Honey Run Friends,
I have spent the past three hours searching for a unique, quiet, full-service hotel or inn near Frankenmuth, Michigan. I need to travel there to meet with our wool fiber processing company, Zeilinger Wool Co., to decide on what new products to make with our sheep’s wool for the gift shop. While there are plenty of roadside hotels, I want something different; I want The Inn at Honey Run.
It is amazing as I age how I seek the quiet and security of the country. With no crime, no noise, just the birds and the summer breeze. I want a contemporary room with a balcony where I can sit and enjoy a cigar as the day comes to an end. I want some hiking trails that take me through an enchanted forest. I want to hear water in the creek gently flowing over the rocks. I want to see sheep grazing in the pasture and see butterflies spiraling around me. And I want to end the day with a spectacular meal, preferable on the grounds of the hotel, so I don’t have to travel away from paradise.
Well, as I am learning, this does not exist in many places, at least not under $1,200 per night. What I have learned in my search is just how special The Inn at Honey Run is compared to the other lodging places around. I hear many of you tell me this fact often, and I believed you, but I did not think we were such an anomaly. Until I entered the hotel world with the purchase of The Inn, hotels were a place to sleep. Sure, some were nicer than others, but that was the differentiator. Now at this stage of my life I am seeking an experience. I don’t just want a clean bed and shower. I desire to be surrounded by nature, and I am seeking quiet places for reflection on the resort grounds. I want The Inn at Honey Run. I know there are a few of us out there, but I wish there were more. Thankfully, I know one place in Millersburg, Ohio I can find the respite retreat I seek – The Inn at Honey Run, a true boutique resort that is affordable luxury.
Your thankful-to-be-at-Honey-Run Innkeeper,
Jason
Indeed! The Inn at Honey Run is truly unique!!
Indeed, Inn at Honey Run is a unique and wonderful experience. We were there for 3 nights the first part of May Although the weather did not cooperate, the rest of our stay was beautiful. We even had the privilege of meeting Hank, the adorable grey furbaby. And we stayed in the Catacombs which I highly recommend!
A return trip will be in our future!
Sincerely.
Bette
Thanks for your perspective Jason! Your work at striving to maintain the Inn with natural experiences readily accessible, all with reasonable prices for many of us 👍
Nothing is like the Inn at Honey Run.
We saw your mom & dad at Oakland a few weeks ago. They look great! Sounds like your dad is coming up to help with projects around the inn since you continue to be short staffed. How well do you pay? I might consider retiring early !! 😀😀

What a heavenly place to stay! I enjoyed everything here at the Inn at Honeyrun ! The room in the honeycombs was unique and So private , bed and linens so comfortable and the all the amenities were more than I expected! Enjoyed the coziness of the fireplace too and the private patio- so much fun watching the birds feed, the visits from the raccoon, groundhog, Turkey and Oscar and Hank the cats! And feeding the sheep was a heartwarming and funny experience! The serenity and beauty of the entire area here made walking the trails delightful and a spiritual retreat !
