Dear Honey Run Friends,
This summer has been a challenging summer. I thought that when we made it through the first two waves of Covid-19 we were successful in causing minimal disruption to the business. Boy, was I wrong. We are facing the worst part of this pandemic disruption and I am sure you have noticed it all around with the lack of team members and staff. We have been searching high and low to fill our current open positions and unfortunately this process is going much slower than we had hoped. I share this with you to ask for your patience this fall. If you have tried to book an overnight room with us over the past two weeks for a stay between now and the end of October, you would have found very limited availability. We have had to suspend our lunch service in Tarragon and limit the number of diners for breakfast and lunch in response to the worker shortage as well.
I share this in the spirit of full disclosure to our beloved and loyal guests. We have been busier than ever since reopening after the start of Covid-19, and we want nothing more than to keep this pace going for all of you. Please know that we are working every angle possible to find the needed staff to return to full operations. I will keep you updated as we fill the vacant positions and things return to normal at The Inn. What you can expect is that if you have an existing reservation, you will receive the best experience by our team. You can also expect us to show you how much we honor the need to provide this experience for you in that we have blocked others from booking, so that our current team is not stretched too thin.
We appreciate all of you and look forward to the day soon that we will not be hindered by these labor disruptions. What has not changed, even with the staff shortages, is the beauty that our resort grounds provide and the level of service you will receive at The Inn. This summer has been especially stunning with the glimpses of the sun peaking through the tree canopy around The Inn, the sound of the creek rushing over the rocks, and the summer insects buzzing each night bringing the familiar calming hum to the summer evenings.
I pray you are all doing well, and we greatly appreciate your support and patience through this challenging season.
Your Innkeeper, front desk attendant, sales director, maintenance man, and sometimes housekeeper,
Jason
You are to be commended for your candid and honest letter. I understand and I will be extra patient when attempting to book another “needed” interlude in your wonderful facility.
Thank you for sharing this challenge. Praying God’s provision for you all. The Inn at Honey Run is truly a haven of blessings.
