January 8, 2013
Dear Honey Run Friends,
Happy New Year! Can you believe that it is 2013? It seems like only yesterday we were preparing for the year 2000 and all the supposed computer troubles we were going to face. Then, in 2012 we were told that the Mayan calendar predicted the end of the world in December. While none of these doomsday predictions came true our world has certainly changed. Our dependence on electronic gadgets is here to stay. Our ways of communicating have changed. The way we operate a boutique country inn has changed so we can stay in-line with our guest’s lifestyles.
But with the change over the course of history there are some things that will never change. With all the technological advancements you will never be able to replace human interactions that bless us through friendships and relationships. At Honey Run we will continue to introduce the latest technological improvements to enhance your visit, but we will never lose the personalization that comes with our intimate staff and guest relationships. Our success is solely based on you. While I love being able to watch the football game in high-definition and see my sister who lives in Florida through my ipad using Facetime, I also love the serenity my soul experiences as I look out the window of my room at Honey Run, watching the bright colors of the birds as they eat from the birdfeeders against an all white snowy backdrop. I love the silence of the season as I walk to the creek to see this cold clear water snaking its way amongst frozen snow pockets. The soft crunch of the virgin snow under my boots as I venture along the green trail and admire the contour of the land as it has lost its covering to the season. No app can replace or replicate what the senses experience firsthand when enjoying The Inn at Honey Run during the winter.
I wish you a blessed and successful 2013. We look forward to hosting you in the near future and sharing with you all of the exciting enhancements we have made at Honey Run to best serve you during your leisure or group visit.
Sincerely,
Jason Nies
I am a longtime visitor, devoted fan, promulgator of rave reviews by word of mouth as well as written word (see Trip Advisor review “A Perfect Universe” (7/11/12), but I am also a college professor (dance history), with a modest income, who scrimps and saves to come up there once a year, when my dream would be a quarterly visit! I write because your new announcement about the lower web rates got my attention, but mentioned that the “Guest Loyalty discount” is even lower, and I thought to myself what IS the guest loyalty discount and why don’t I know about it?? I certainly qualify, if the words have any meaning.
I haven’t had the pleasure to meet the new proprietor but I met the last one, as well as Marge. Thank you for continuing the Inn as a kind of Heaven on Earth.
Thank you for your compliments and your TripAdvisor review, Candace. The Guest Loyalty Discount is our new program that offers a 10% discount on room rates if you book your room upon departure. I hope to meet you personally during your next visit, and thank you again for your kind words!
