It’s fall again at The Inn, which means leaf-covered trails, crisp breezes, and brilliant autumn color. It also means it’s time for me to set up our seasonal pumpkin displays across the grounds.
This year, at the main inn, I moved the gourd quilt frame I originally built for our sheep barn to the entrance walkway, where it now serves as a charming backdrop for photos. The quilt is dotted with mini-pumpkins and corn husks, while the surrounding troughs are brimming with pumpkins in every size and in shades of white, yellow, and orange. My favorites are the quirky white-and-orange gourds affectionately named Mac & Cheese. A hand-carved Honey Run sign, trailing English ivy, and a cluster of orange mums complete the scene.
On Tarragon’s Terrace, the pumpkin cages I crafted last year found their place in the wooden planters. Alongside the large feature pumpkins, I tucked in Red Rooster grass (carefully trimmed), bright orange Agastache, trailing ivy, and a rust-hued heuchera. Hidden spotlights on timers cast a gentle upward glow, illuminating the pumpkins once dusk settles in.
I hope you’ll join us sometime this fall to experience the beauty and magic of the season at The Inn at Honey Run.
