Dear Honey Run Friends,
November is the month of gratitude. We celebrate Thanksgiving and the bountiful harvest God has blessed us with in our lives. As I reflect on the many blessings I receive on a daily basis today I am writing this as I am staying at The Inn at Honey Run for the weekend as a guest (or at least as much as I can as only a guest and not the proprietor).
My wife and I are hosting a friend at The Inn this weekend. It has been a great reunion allowing these two women to share memories, discuss all that they are doing professionally, and enjoy the healing art of laughter.
Saturday morning as I was sitting on our deck watching the sunrise I was in awe of the natural beauty that surrounds The Inn. Observing the forest with the dim sunlight of the initial sunrise, hearing the squirrels scurry with intensity and purpose as they collect all the nuts and food they can in preparation for winter, and feeling blessed to be the current steward of the Inn, I am flooded with gratitude.
Shortly after dawn, my wife, her friend, and I headed to the Gospel Bookstore in Berlin, Ohio to attend the book signing of several authors to which my wife, Tami Nies, is one of the authors sharing her recently released devotion, “Ruffled and Redeemed”.
Once I helped my wife get settled at the book signing, I rushed to pick up my Amish neighbor David, and I took him to Hillcrest Orchard in Walnut Creek. This is an annual ritual David and I do as he buys several bushels of apples for his family’s cooking needs and I enjoy the evercrisp apples for my snacking pleasure. While buying the apples I found my newest drink pleasure while I enjoyed an apple cider slushy.
This day is just a small example of the community and friendships we have formed here in Amish Country and at The Inn at Honey Run. There is a Christian song by Cain called I’m so Blessed. The lyrics of this song are streaming through my mind as I am full of gratitude for all my blessings. Life is full of joy and disappointments. but this song reminds me at my best and at my worst I am truly blessed because I am a child of God.
It is my prayer that during this season of Thanksgiving you can find the time to reflect and know that no matter what your circumstances in life right now, you are blessed! I pray that this season brings you love, joy, and the time to celebrate with your family and friends. We all work very hard to provide for our families and ourselves, but we must remember that all that we have is a gift from our Creator and not our own doing.
Happy Thanksgiving and may blessings abound in your life and those you love.
Your grateful Innkeeper,
Jason

Hi Jason, I just wanted to say thank you again for your wonderful hospitality and for hosting me that weekend so that Tami and I could reconnect. I can’t begin to tell you how much that weekend was a blessing to me. I’m so thankful and grateful that I got the chance to meet you and spend time with you. I’m so happy that Tami has you in her life. I look forward to staying at The Inn at Honey Run again because it’s a beautiful place to get away and relax. Also, the food at Tarragon is absolutely amazing. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. It was an amazing experience that I’ll always remember. Thank you!
