During my first month at The Inn, I was involved in several wedding tastings with couples who were preparing for their 2016 Honey Run wedding. One of the first couples I sat with, alongside my coworker and coordinator of the event, Rachael Koontz, was Kelsey Padavana and Alex Ridenour. I fell in love with the couple’s vibrancy and excitement – they were so ready to have fun on their wedding day and didn’t want to spare any detail.
My lovely coworker and friend, Rachael, had control of the day and made sure everything was picture perfect for the Ridenour’s. I transformed into a dining attendant, learning the ins and outs of our operations and just how tough it can be putting each plate on the tray without breaking anything (I only broke two glasses that evening).
This month, I’ve invited Rachael to take you inside our Honey Run Wedding with Kelsey and Alex.
Kelsey and Alex were so perfect, I was so in love with their vision. They had a bohemian style that they wanted to bring to our Grove with a coloring book lounge, electronic dance party, and thoughtful guest bags with items hand-selected from their travels. Alex was a very hands-on groom who only had Kelsey’s happiness in mind when selecting the menu, table layout, and guest room assignments.
The Grove is such a fun space to transform. Being a blank slate, the bride and groom can really make it their own, and Alex & Kelsey’s vision was nothing short of perfect. I worked with their Day-of Coordinator and cousin, Ashley, to make sure every detail was executed flawlessly. Their vision was completely centered on having fun, which was absolutely in full-force that evening. So many special touches were a part of this special day. From the dreamcatcher Kelsey’s mom made as a surprise for their wedding ceremony backdrop, to the special father/daughter dance that included some family friends. The weather was perfect, which made for a fun evening of dancing under a blanket of stars. With any event, the day can get rather hectic, but is always such a rewarding job especially when you’re working with such a great couple. It was such a fun night they danced the grass right off!
It was such an honor and a pleasure to host Kelsey, Alex, and their guests as their first day as husband and wife. We wish them a lifetime of happiness, love, and spontaneous road trips!
