Dear Honey Run friends,
I had a truly great 2018. No major health issues and both my business and personal life were smooth and without any disruptions or tragedies. I know I am not alone in this being a good year, but I also know many of you did not share the same outcome for last year. The exciting thing is this is a new year. A fresh slate to begin anew and allow optimism to seep back into your soul, allowing your dreams to take root.
Life is not like a sporting event where you begin the game and in a couple of hours you have an outcome. Life is ongoing. We have to find “restart” moments, so we can put an end to a bad game and start a new game. Many of us use the calendar year to do just that – take stock of the previous year while looking forward to the coming year. While problems will always attack us during this journey, I pray that you are able to put them into perspective and know that better days are coming.
The other evening, I was outside enjoying a brisk winter night, and the sky was cloud-covered so that no stars were visible. But then there was a small circle clearing in the clouds, and I could see the stars shining through for a brief moment as the clouds swiftly moved above me. This moment made me think about life and this example – that the stars are always there, but the clouds hide them from me at times. Don’t allow the clouds in life to steal your joy and the beauty of the stars. Even when the stars are not visible, they are just above the clouds that are trying to hide them. The clouds are temporary and will clear. We just have to be patient and endure.
I’m excited for 2019 and all that is in store for this next phase of adventure in life. I pray that the new year brings you joy and comfort as you embark on your next phase of this life.
Happy New Year!
Your optimistic Innkeeper,
Jason
