Dear Honey Run Friends,
Things have been very busy at The Inn with fall arriving, and I have been pushing to maintain everything. The other evening, I was trying to get all the mowing finished, and with the sunsetting earlier, I found myself mowing the garden in the pitch black of night. It was cloudy so the moon was shielded, and the air was thick and cool. Thankfully our Ventrac mower has bright headlights. As I was mowing the garden a strange feeling came over me. I have mowed the garden hundreds of times before, but not in the dark. I could only see that which was directly in front of me. The Amy Grant and Michael W. Smith song Thy Word is a light unto my feet came to me and I began singing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a6LC8cu03Ig
As I was singing, I started to think about life and how God promises to light our path. I was feeling anxious in the garden, because I could not see to my left or right. I was not in full control. I sang some more, and it became clear that if Jesus is my guide through life, I have nothing to be anxious about and I must follow his path at his guiding. He will light my path and guide my way. This reality for me makes all the difference in my life. I hope it makes all the difference for you in your life.
Happy Autumn from your fearless Innkeeper,
Jason
Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path
Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path
When I feel afraid
Think I’ve lost my way
Still you’re there right beside me
And nothing will I fear
As long as you are near
Please be near me to the end
Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path
Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path
I will not forget
Your love for me and yet
My heart forever is wandering
Jesus be my guide
And hold me to your side
I will love you to the end
Nothing will I fear as long as you are near
Please be near me to the end
Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path
Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path
And a light unto my path
You’re the light unto my path
Thank you Jason. Jesus is all we need.
Jason – what an uplifting message for me to read this evening. Lost my husband 4 months ago (married 40 years) and then I had triple bypass surgery so this was wonderful to read tonight. I could use some prayers since I now am going on the 19th for CT scan of my left lung. Loved the verse above God is with me right beside me and nothing for me to fear. I feel reading your Oct letter was for me this month. Thanks so much.
