Dear Honey Run Friends,
Mother’s Day is right around the corner, and I know this day is a mixed bag of emotions. For some who had crummy mothers the day is filled with sadness about what could have been. For mothers who have had to face the unspeakable tragedy of losing a child it brings pain and grief they should not have to face. But there are some who had a wonderful mother who mirrored the love of the Creator to them and selflessly gave of themselves to their family.
I am blessed and was lucky to have the experience of a wonderful mother. She was and is always there offering her love and support. She is certainly not perfect, but she was the perfect mother for me. She allowed me to chase my dreams even when she did not understand them. She allowed me to find my way through life and stumble when I needed to so I could learn how to recover from disappointment. She loved me when I was unlovable, and she prayed for me day and night through the darkest days of my life. In my younger days I did not appreciate all she did for me but as I have grown and matured, I see that I would not be the man I am today had it not been for her love and support. I cherish my mom and I am so grateful that she passed along to me the ability to know my Lord and Savior, to talk out my problems, and to persistently work hard. She taught me that we all must work hard but that the goal should not be money but rather a higher calling. The money would be a byproduct of doing what is right and living out your vocation.
No matter what your experience I pray that this Mother’s Day you have some time to thank your mother for all that she has given you. Thank her for loving you so much that she gave life to you and know that even when it did not seem like it, she was the one person in the world who truly wants the best for you. You are her child, a gift from God. If your mother is not with you in this world you can still be thankful for what she gave you and bless the mothers that you know who could use a small word of encouragement. None of us would be alive if it wasn’t for a mother who chose to bring us into the world. For that, we all owe the mothers of this world all the gratitude we can offer.
Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers and thank you for making this world a safe and loving world for so many of us.
Your grateful innkeeper,
Jason

My wife and I have been there several times even staying in the Honeycombs once. We enjoy the deck off the dining room as it is a really great place to just sit outside and enjoy a drink.
It is just a beautiful, quiet place where we can just go and relax.
What a lovely, godly tribute! It blessed me, and I thank you. Happy Mother’s Day to your mother & to all mothers!
