Dear Honey Run Friends,
God’s incredible creation of nature and order leaves me in awe at every turn! I am humbled as I sit and write this feeling the warm October sun on me while a steady wind blows, rustling the dried leaves, creating a soothing sound that calms my soul. I am watching the squirrels gather nuts and food while building their nests for the coming winter. I witness sweet crisp apples appear on trees where only a few months ago they were just a simple flower blossom. Farmers are collecting their harvest after a season of waiting.
I was in Costa Rica recently for a church conference and after the conference I was able to take a few days with my wife to relax and see the countryside. While exploring the beauty of this country we were lucky to have timed it perfectly to be able to go to the pacific coast and witness the giant sea turtles leave the ocean in the evening, crawl 100 plus feet onto the beach, dig a hole, deposit countless eggs, cover the hole, do a turtle dance to pack the sand to protect the eggs, and fight through their exhaustion and make their way back to the ocean. This was an incredible experience and truly a magical feat of God’s creation witnessed.
And then I returned to the Inn, and I watched the team at Honey Run in action. Working hard to clean rooms, prepare stunning meals, set corporate gatherings, greet and check-in guests, build beautiful fall displays around the inn, clear leaves off the parking lot, work the books to pay payroll and the bills, all while smiling and serving from a servant’s heart.
God is good and all that He created is good. The question is do we slow down and see the beauty we are blessed with in this great gift of creation and life?
I pray you have time this fall to slow down and enjoy some time in nature. I pray you have time to look around at your family, friends, coworkers, and neighbors and see that while we may not always agree on everything, we all have value, and we are all a miracle created for a purpose. I recently heard this quote that eloquently brings this point home.
You are a unique, unrepeatable, miracle of God. There is no one else like you, and our world will be lacking and incomplete unless you take your place and make your unique contribution.”
I pray you know how special you are and how this world needs you. Happy autumn! I hope to see you at the Inn soon!
Your amazed Innkeeper,
Jason
Hi Jason!
We loved staying in the Loft A last month!
Beautiful place and nice to have the kitchen.
The weather was gorgeous and we enjoyed the covered area by day and the campfires at night with Monty and his friend from
N Carolina!! Monty gave us some behind the scenes info on your beautiful place!!
Thanks for offering the special to stay in loft!

Dear Jason,
I am sorry we did not see you when we stayed at the end last week. I have sent several surveys to compliment all of your staff for their attentiveness and professionalism. Our room was so comfortable and waking up to the beautiful sunrises was truly a blessing. Our meals were so well prepared, and I was happy to see that the chef shared his recipe for the butternut squash bisque. Our 2 servers Lindsey and Taylor were wonderful and made great recommendations. We enjoyed the “welcoming “committee, feeding the sheep and walking through the Open Air Art Museum. We are already planning our next visit for our anniversary and just for fun and relaxation.
Thank you for having such a beautiful inn filled with beautiful people and animals!
