Dear Honey Run Friends,
Do you have dreams? Are your dreams bigger than what you can achieve alone? If so, how do you cope with looming mountain before you? How do you tackle the challenge one step at a time? Do you lose your courage in the face of the challenge, or do you persevere?
These are questions I often face and must answer for myself. My life has been a sequence of dreams, each one bigger and more audacious than its predecessors. Why do I do this to myself? Why can’t I be content to live a simpler life that does not require faith in something and someone bigger than me? I can only surmise that this is how I am designed.
Buying The Inn at Honey Run seventeen years ago was a monumental task that I did not have the resources to do and yet, through faith, hard work, and God’s grace I achieved this dream. Along this journey there have been dreams of how to improve the inn and experiences for our guest’s that have been challenging and even beyond our funding and skill level and yet at every step of the way God has opened the doors, provided the right personnel, brought the guest and business we needed, and our needs have always been met.
We are now embarking on the next monumental dream for the Inn. With the Club-Level Honeycombs by Homestead finished and one of the two cottages fully remolded into a spa cottage we are now beginning the next phase of the dream. We are building a wellness spa that does not exist in Ohio. This will provide a European style day spa with a Honey Run twist. But this project is not easy and certainly not inexpensive. We have raised half of the funds needed and we are making progress with new investors every day to finish the funding needed to bring this new project to life.
What I have learned in the process of dreaming big is that it is key to listen to God and then wait on His timing. The latter is my struggle. I believe this wellness spa will bring thousands of guests the healing, renewing, and mind, body, and soul reconnection that is needed. I believe this wellness spa will be a continuation of our mission to offer couples a loving and memorable experience. I believe this wellness spa will be a blessing to the local community and our guests. I also believe this will not come to life without God’s blessing and intervention. We must do our part, and God will do the rest. Please join me in praying that all that is needed to complete this project shows up and that all our vendors, craftsmen, contractors, and team are blessed in the process. Pray that this wellness spa is a blessing to the community and guests of The Inn at Honey Run for years to come.
Stay tuned in the coming months as I share our progress and show you the process of this wellness spa being born at The Inn. The first step is electric and groundwork which begins in September. We plan on releasing renderings and more information this fall. Stay tuned. I am so excited to walk this journey with each of you and enhance the offerings this special property brings to all who visit.
