The newest guests at The Inn at Honey Run are not always the getaway-seekers you might expect. Instead, seven new lambs now call the Millersburg hotel grounds home as part of the inn’s resident flock of Tunis sheep.
The sheep are a regular favorite of guests of the hotel, calmly welcoming visitors to their barn and meadow year-round. Spring is an especially good time to stop by the sheep meadow, however, thanks to the rambunctious new lambs (click here to watch a video).
Early February marks the beginning of lambing season for the all-female flock. The new lambs can arrive any time over the next month or two, allowing visitors the chance to see a few different stages of the lambs’ growth no matter when they stop by. The lambs are playful and energetic, and run around with a contagious exuberance. Over the next few months, the lambs’ dark, cinnamon color will lighten to a creamy white fleece as they grow up.
The new lambs are just one allure of a springtime visit to The Inn at Honey Run. The Inn will host a Spring Wellness Retreat with yoga classes and healthy menu additions on March 20-22. The grounds are also a boon to anyone anxious for lighter weather—spring flowers like crocuses and trillium are early bloomers along the Inn’s walking trails.
