2 C Dried Figs, Destemmed and Sliced
1 C Toasted Walnuts
1 C Sugar
2 C Red Wine
½ t Fresh Cracked Black Pepper
1 t Coriander Seeds
Toast the walnuts in an oven set to 400 degrees for 5 minutes. Place the walnuts on a cutting board and break them into smaller pieces.
Combine all ingredients to a heavy bottomed sauce pot. Bring to a boil and allow to reduce at a simmer.
Once the liquid is reduced by half, place in the refrigerator and allow to cool completely.
This jam works well with grilled chicken or pork and is fantastic paired with cheese.
Enjoy!
Dear Chef Bret,
Thank you for sharing your amazing recipe for Dried Fig & Walnut Jam. One evening I enjoyed the pork that you served it with more than any other pork I have ever had. I did not realize that pork could taste so good! Would you be willing to share how you prepared the pork? And what type of cheese do you like to pair with the Dried Fig & Walnut Jam?
Thanks for sharing your incredible recipes!
