Dear Honey Run Friends,
During my short time of life I have discovered that I do not physically cope well with stress. I handle the stressful situations and my body absorbs the effects of each and every stressful moment. I have read countless ways to relieve this stress and I have attempted to utilize a number of these tools in my life. In my pursuit to live in balance, I have only found one outlet that never fails me in my pursuit to ease my body aches from the abuse I subject it to with the stress that I take on in my daily living; massage therapy. I was introduced to massage therapy by my grandparents while I was growing up. They would have a therapist come to their home on a regular basis and as they learned the techniques that were used on them my grandmother would give the grandchildren a mini massage with her new found knowledge. These mini massages only lasted 5 minutes for each grandchild but I remember how good they felt and how my back would feel so relaxed after this short treatment.
As I entered adulthood this memory was with me and I had the opportunity to have a real massage from a licensed therapist. After just one massage I was hooked. While the treatment rates were not always easy to cover in my younger years I would reward myself (and my achy muscles) whenever I had a little extra in expendable income. While a massage is a luxury I truly believe that it offers my body relief and is part of a well balanced health plan. I am now spoiled with a spa on the grounds of Honey Run where I call home. I am able to treat myself to a massage once a month and offer my body a momentary release from the stress I have collected over the previous month.
