Dear Honey Run Friends,
Traditionally, hotels and inns offered guests a clean and comfortable place to sleep while traveling, and many still do along our interstates and airports. As the hospitality industry improved, resorts were built to not only offer clean and comfortable overnight accommodations, but to be the destination – offering food and beverage services, activities, and unique experiences. Hotels in the city try to reproduce a resort experience. From the inside, their rooms and furnishings are luxurious and comfortable, but when you look out the window all you see is development, roads, and city life. That is not the case at The Inn at Honey Run. While we offer all the amenities of the city inside our hotel, we also offer more. More silence, more nature, more serenity, more beauty.
We are working each day to offer you an experience like no other at The Inn at Honey Run. What makes a visit to The Inn so special is the perfect combination of service, comfort, experience, and serenity. Our boutique resort allows you to experience art and culture at our Open Air Art Museum, while dining in Tarragon offers a culinary festival of the senses. We have honey harvested on property with our own bees; we are planting a 2-acre garden that you will be able to pick the day’s vegetables for the restaurant with our Chef, and we offer a number of seating areas throughout our 56 acres for you to stop and enjoy the moment.
It is easy for me to take for granted how special The Inn is being here every day. But then there are days like this past Monday when I had the opportunity to give a tour of the resort to Clara, a local Amish woman from Sugarcreek, Ohio just about 10 miles from The Inn. Clara has been commissioned to hand make lap quilts for The Inn and wall quilts. Clara has lived in the area all her life but she has never been to The Inn. Watching Clara’s face light up with the beauty of the view from the rooms in The Inn transported me back to the first time I stepped onto this magical property. I saw the beauty of the forest with the birds flying between the trees through Clara’s eyes. I heard nothing but silence as I enjoyed the moment and I smelled the scent of the preparations of dinner coming down the hall from Tarragon. This experience is The Honey Run Experience.
I hope you will be coming soon to experience all the serenity that this Inn offers to each of you. We will be excitedly awaiting your arrival.
Your impassioned Innkeeper,
Jason
Thank you for this reflection! I stayed at the Inn a few years back and have enjoyed reading your newsletter since then. I am scheduled for a return stay this month and am so looking forward to the delicious food that leaves me wanting more, tranquil and soul restorative accommodations, and opportunity to explore the local area through hiking and cycling.
We stayed with you about 4 years ago and are returning next month. Is the cat who takes you all around the property still there? I love that cat.
Hello Gerry,
Our resident feline is still here. His name is Satchmo and he is still accompanying guests on walks and all together keeping an eye on things. Be sure and say hello, snap a photo, and post on social media if you like. Our guests use #WheresSatchmo!
We look forward to your upcoming stay!
Had the best English muffin this morning ever this morning, and bacon was delicious and done to perfection. .thoroughly enjoyed our get away, as always ~ our favorite moments were yesterday when during a hike, we found a lovely bench beside a peaceful brook to sit a spell and enjoy the sights and sounds of nature with the droplets of water shining like diamonds~
