Letter from Jason – September 2025

Dear Honey Run Friends,

We are approaching my 16th anniversary of owning The Inn on October 1. These past 16 years have been filled with joy, new friends, stress, tears, and many challenges. There have been 3 owners of The Inn, including the first owner who has 20 years at the helm, the second owner 7 years, and I have made up the balance of our 43-year history. It is truly an honor to be the second longest owner of this incredible resort and God willing my ownership will surpass our founders 20 years.

The Inn at Honey Run means as much to me as it does so many of you. I have realized these 56 acres are sacred ground. There is a spirit here that is found nowhere else. The union of nature and humans was created and when we visit the Inn we are reminded in every season of its beauty. The rhythm of nature has a healing quality. The Created majesty reminds us how small we are in the scheme of life while celebrating our role in its process. The beauty that abounds shows us the love our Creator has for us and the blessings we all inherited. The hundreds of employees who over our 43 years have left a little piece of themselves on these hallowed grounds to bless the next generation with a peaceful and serene retreat is seen all around.

I’m not sure if it is another fall season arriving soon or just a grateful heart that is causing me to reminisce, but looking at the community it has taken to create this haven is humbling. It’s humbling to know that I have been blessed to cross paths with all of you and this spectacular property. It’s a blessing to come to work each day in paradise and while some issues don’t feel like a blessing when I stop, listen, and pray, I realize that even the worst day of work is still a blessing at The Inn at Honey Run.

I love my job! I enjoy working hand and hand with each team member to create new and memorable experiences for our guests. I love chatting with many of you as we become friends over the years of your visits to the Inn. I love problem solving and figuring out how to take the many blessings God has entrusted to us and use them to make the business function while being an ambassador of the One of who it all belongs. I love working with our vendors to provide our guests with the highest quality goods that enhance their experience while relaxing at the Inn. And I am blessed when I get to watch another couple celebrate a milestone, a team member grow in ways they never knew they could, or when I take a break from work and spend a few minutes soaking up a soul-needed healing from the forest.

The Inn at Honey Run is truly a special place and I am excited to continue to help it grow, meet new fans, and share this much needed retreat with everyone who God brings into our path. I pray you receive this same satisfaction and joy from your job and that you are able to spend a few days at The Inn and share with me this special boutique resort.

Your grateful Innkeeper,

Jason

Please keep the faith. The Inn and grounds are bastion of beauty, peace and solitude in a world that now, all too often, behaves in contrary fashion.

Thank you for all your work for heart and healing…

Jason, I too love the Inn at Honey Run ! My first visit was in the early 1980’s with my husband and son, shortly after we had moved to the Johnstown area. We used to drive out for dinner. Since then I have returned many times – each time gaining new insight on Life and much needed energy renewal. I made several major Life decisions while walking in those beautiful woods, or sitting on a bench, overlooking the valley in the years following. It became my “retreat center” for many years. . . The last time I visited was the summer of 2023. I now live in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, near the shores of Lake Superior, an equally beautiful spot on earth. But I will always cherish my many visits to The Inn at Honey Run!
