Letter from Jason – March 2023

Dear Honey Run Friends,

We are less than two weeks away from the first day of spring. Spring for me is a time of new beginnings. The daylight is growing each day and the temperatures are warming. New life is appearing in nature amongst the vegetation and animal kingdom. It is a time to sit back and observe the awesome created order of this beautiful world. I cannot think of a better place to witness this beauty than at The Inn at Honey Run.

I have been blessed to be able to travel around the world and see many sights and cultures. I love traveling and all the experiences it offers. But the one thing my life lacks most is time resting and relaxing. After a recent trip to Israel this became even more obvious to me how much I need a trip to the Inn for some serenity from my crazy schedule. I know so many of you have figured this out already and I truly appreciate hearing your stories about what the Inn means to you and your sanity. Just this week I was speaking to a couple who own four restaurants in the Cincinnati area and how they need a retreat every quarter and they have found that respite at The Inn at Honey Run.

I kill myself with work as it piles up and piles up and seems like I will never get ahead of the demand. And while my work is good, for me to have many more years of good work ahead of me, I must slow down and rest. I say this, yet I don’t heed my own words. But your example, those of you who make the time to come to the Inn show me it is possible.

I am grateful for the foresight of our founder Marge Stock who dreamed up The Inn at Honey Run and created this respite away from the busy world where we can offer a place to renew and refresh your mind, body, and soul. The greatest attraction the Inn offers is the silence from the noise of the industrial world and the direct connection to nature and its harmonious symphony. I pray that you take the time to heal and come to the Inn for some much-needed serenity for the soul.

Your serenity in training Innkeeper.

Jason

You expressed exactly what the Inn has meant to us, serenity. As of today, Covid has cheated us from a number of visits. We can only hope and pray this plague among us will lessen or end. Please continue your work. Never give in or quit. We are grateful ti you for all you do.

We can’t think of a better place to rest, enjoy nature, sleep well and have the best breakfasts imaginable. We have become frequent visitors and hope we will have many more years ahead to return again and again.

We missed you on our recent trip! We know you need R & R also, so bless you for taking care of yourself. We stayed in the Honeycombs this visit and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The food, as always was excellent, with no prep on my part or dishes at the end! One of the perks! We really enjoyed the biscotti, gluten and dairy free) and I am hoping to figure how to make it before our next visit. The Air Museum is always enjoyable, even though the storm had hit and we will have to wait till next visit to see it, all put together again!
