Letter from Jason – August 2024

Dear Honey Run Friends,

Life is challenging. It can feel like everything is closing in on you as you scramble to handle the details of the latest urgent need. You wonder how things will work out and you play every scenario in your mind trying to find a solution. You push and push and push until all of your strength is depleted and in desperation you pray and ask God for help.

Am I the only one who has struggles? Does any of this sound familiar to you? I have been in a season of work and personal challenges. At the same time, I have been in a personal season of pure joy. It’s funny how life can give you so much good while balancing it with what seems to be bad. But is it? When I make myself the center of the world things are clearly black and white. When something happens to me that I do not like or wish for, it is bad. But, when I stop and remember this life is not about me, it is all about Jesus I begin to gain some perspective. When I look through the lens of how all that is happening to me can be a testimony for the One true Lord and Savior, I am humbled. In this light, there can be no bad things as He promises to turn all things to His good.

As I am reflecting on life and the next steps I am quickly calmed by the presence of my bride and her steadfast faith. I am calmed by the stunning beauty of nature that God has blessed us with in this world. I am writing this while sitting by the creek at the Inn listening to the birds sing their joyful chorus. The sun is shining, and the trees bask in the glory of the light, just as we bask in the glory of His Light.

Life is hard and there are many twists and turns, but it is so worth the struggle. Allow the joys of life to overwhelm your struggles and then and only then can you see the beauty of life that God has always intended for you each and every day. I am so grateful for life and love and quiet moments to remember to whom I belong.

I pray you are having a wonderful summer and that time, and budgets allow you to come to the Inn and have your much needed time quietly reflecting in God’s perfect creation. I pray that the struggles of life do not snuff out your joy and that you know your worth to your Creator.

Your journeying and humbled Innkeeper,

Jason

    Hi Jason,
I recently spent three days at the Inn on a solo adventure to commemorate my retirement. I was looking for somewhere to have solitude, time for reflection, and peace. I hope it helps bring a smile to your face to know that my time at the Inn was absolutely delightful. I have traveled pretty extensively around the world and I can say with my whole heart that your Inn is one of the best places I’ve ever had the luck to stay and visit. Your work (and that of your outstanding team!) is important to those of us looking for a special place away from home. Thank you for all you do.
    Best regards,
    Jill Korsok

First of all, congratulations on your wedding! How awesome, hope we might your bride when we are there sometime. Actually, we need a brief break and will be there later this month for a refreshing day of being in the hills and near the goats! We will walk the trails and enjoy the beauty God has awaiting us as we rest and relax. Blessings to all, Wid & Judie

Jason, we have been guests here for long before you were owner and I would like to compliment you on your remodeled rooms. They are lovely. The chairs are comfortable and stylish, the paint color inviting and the shower and bath clean and modern. Even though we live in FL now, we stop here any time we are in the area. Now if we can just get some morning coffee…😂
Best of luck and continued success!
