It was fate when Caitlin and her mom showed up at The Inn in the middle of March. Our brothers were both good friends and it seemed logical that Caitlin and I would become fast friends, as well. Without the leaves on the trees or the flowers in bloom, it was difficult to picture a lush, green, April wedding day, but it didn’t take Caitlin long to decide that The Inn was her place.
Caitlin has organizational skills that would rival mine or anyone else I know. She would send me lists of questions and things on her mind, and one by one we would get them checked off. Renting in beautiful sage green linens? Check. Putting rooms on hold for the family? Check. Selecting the proper hors d’oeuvres? Check, check, check. After thirteen months of planning, and lots of details checked off, Caitlin and Ty were ready for their wedding day!
It started off a rainy and stormy Saturday in April, but that didn’t dim Caitlin’s spirt in the least. By 4:00, the rain had cleared and the sun was coming out. Of course it wouldn’t rain during this picture perfect wedding day! Caitlin and Ty shared their vows on TreeTop Pavilion with 66 of their nearest and dearest friends and family. They planned a vintage, floral theme as Caitlin loves over-the-top floral arrangements and antique touches. If you looked closely, you could also see that their cats were part of their wedding day, and they had photos of them at the altar. Can’t forget Junior Griffey and Daisy May!
At the reception in our Sage room, guests enjoyed an assortment of international cheeses, crudité with house-made dip, and petit meatballs with a spicy tomato sauce. Our culinary team prepared fresh mixed field greens salad, grilled strip steak and chicken marsala, with roasted mashed potatoes and asparagus. For dessert, the bride and groom brought in an array of cookies, cupcakes, and cake pops from Litty’s Cakes and Cookies for their guests to enjoy and refuel while dancing the night away!
Coordinating the details of Caitlin and Ty’s picture perfect wedding was an absolute pleasure, and I am honored to be able to call them friends. I wish them a lifetime of adventure, happiness, and laughter together. We look forward to seeing them at The Inn again soon!
