This recipe is definitely my favorite from our new Whole Hog dinner menu. The umami of the soy sauce and the sweetness of the honey play really well together and make this a fun spin on a traditional meatball.
Pork Meatball Mix:
1# Ground Pork
1 Egg
¼ C Milk
½ C Panko
¼ C Parmesan
2 T Parsley
2 T Honey
1 T Soy Sauce
2 t Garlic, Minced
2 t Shallot, Minced
1 t Black Pepper
1 t Salt
Method:
Place all ingredients except ground pork in a large mixing bowl, and mix until the panko bread crumbs absorb liquid. Add the pork and mix thoroughly. Divide into 1.5 oz portions and then form into spheres. Bake on a sheet tray lined with parchment paper and pan spray at 350 for 10 minutes, rotating halfway through.
