Letter from Jason – March 2019

Posted on March 11, 2019
in Changing Seasons, Letters from Jason, Newsletter Content, Newsletters, Seasonal

Dear Friends of The Inn at Honey Run,

Stick a fork in me; I’m done. While I love the beauty of the snow and the quietness of winter, I am over it. I want to feel the warmth of the sun as I walk through the wildflower fields. I am ready for the hum of insects as the countryside reawakens anytime now with the impending arrival of spring. While I am tired of being closed in the house, I am grateful for the time to reflect.

As a Christian, I am just beginning to celebrate the time of Lent. This 40-day observance leading up to Easter is always a favorite time for me in the spring. I use this time of reflection to be thankful for all that I have been given in this life. I know that by the sounds of my introduction paragraph I do not sound grateful, but I really am. I could be sick and not feeling well or battling daily physical pain, or I could be tormented with depression and wishing it would all end. I could be completely poor with no idea where my next meal is coming from or I could be a refugee fleeing from a war-torn country with no homeland to settle. Life is not fair and many of us are dealt lousy hands, but through my beliefs I have hope. I have hope that physical suffering will end one day. I have hope that depression will be stamped out with pure, unadulterated joy. I have hope that hunger will cease to exist, and we will one day all be forced to leave this life with the hope of more. My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus’ blood and righteousness.

I hope that you have hope as well. I hope you are excited for the dawning of spring and this season of Lent leading us to Passover and Easter. With hope, spring is just around the corner, and new life will abound.

Your hopeful Innkeeper,
Jason

I have been praying for Honeyrun and you since my husband and I started enjoying the Inn a few years ago. I share with you the passion for hospitality. Even more, I share the hope of Christ crucified and risen for us. Looking forward to our next visit.

What a peaceful and humbling moment when I was at the Inn and reading this. This is the third time we have been here and one of my favorite places. Gods land. An hour ago my fiancé just proposed to me just up above the honeycombs. This place will now hold an even more special place in my heart. Thank you for providing a peaceful, beautiful getaway that brings us back down to our Reality, the maker Himself.
