Letter from Jason – December 2020

Posted on December 1, 2020
in Around the Inn, Letters from Jason, Newsletters, Seasonal

Dear Honey Run Friends,

As I write this, we are preparing for the first statewide snowstorm of the year. The Christmas decorations are going up at The Inn as we speak, and with the possibility of some snow accumulation, I am in full Christmas mode. Yes, this year is different with the pandemic, but it is also the same. The sound of Christmas music in the background, the lights adorning houses and trees, and the celebration of the birth of Jesus have not gone away with COVID-19.

May I share what Advent and Christmas season mean to me? I know many of you do not share my Christian faith, and I do not share this with any intent of belittling your beliefs or as a statement that my beliefs are superior. Truth be told, we all believe our beliefs are the right ones. But I share this solely as my life experience and faith. Christmas is the celebration of when God came to live on earth with us and to redeem us from our shortcomings through Jesus. It’s that simple and that powerful. For me, having a God who cares enough for us and is humble enough to walk as I walk (minus my imperfections) makes all the difference in my life. Yes, the cultural traditions excite my senses and warm my heart, but they are not the entire story. These outward blessings point me toward and remind me of what I see as the only reason for this season – my God arriving on earth in human form to walk with me.

I pray that this Christmas season brings you great joy in whatever you celebrate. I pray for each of you a healthy, safe, and joyful season as we close out this year of 2020 and look forward to the blessings that are in store for us in 2021. Please know that I am aware of all the suffering that is currently facing the world. I am aware that lives are cut short each day due to violence and disease. But rather than focus on the suffering part of life, I choose to focus on the living part of life. And while the living portion may be longer or shorter depending on our time allotted, we all have an opportunity to live. How we use this precious time is up to us. I pray you appreciate the gift of your life and know the inner joy in your soul that I experience. Life, no matter the length, is a gift.

Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year blessings to you all!

Your grateful Innkeeper,

Jason

Jason…I love that we share the faith of our Lord Jesus….I just love advent and the anticipation of celebrating the birth of our Savior who came so that we would have life eternally.
May you, too, find His presence walking with you each day bringing you closer to Him.
We are looking forward to sharing our time at the Inn hopefully in the spring. (We had to cancel in October)

Merry Christmas and blessings to you and yours.

Love your comments Jason. I currently work part-time as a licensed professional clinical counselor and I am seeing the toll stress and anxiety are taking on/ in people’s marriages and lives. My background as a retired pastor has allowed people to share where their hope is being found in these difficult days. For many that hope is found in their faith. May the joy of this season be found in the real message and meaning of Christmas, the love of our heavenly Father. My wife and I have many fond memories of the Inn . We look forward to a the time we can visit again.. Thank you for the warm Christmas greeting.

    Peace and blessings in 2021,

Jesus is what life is all about for me. His glory shines through darkness. His love is perfect. Thank you for sharing Him today and may He continue to bless you with Himself.

    This Man i met
    He called my name
    He gave me love
    He took my shame
    He left me here
    Oh, but not alone
    His Spirit speaks
    He leads me home

    Undeserving
    Nothing do i bring
    A wretch am i
    Of Him i sing
    i miss Him still
    He holds my heart
    My soul’s truest lover
    Jesus, Thou art

    Jason,
We always thank GOD for this time of year to celebrate the birth of our LORD JESUS CHRIST.
HE truly is the reason for this season and may we all experience HIS matchless peace in our lives.
We will be spending our 54th anniversary at our favorite Inn, a couple days before Christmas, and are very much looking forward to our visit. We started coming to the Inn at Honey Run in 1987 and have enjoyed it every time we are able. It has always provided a special reconnection time for us to our SAVIOR and each other.
You and your staff always make our time there a time we will remember the rest of our lives.
May GOD BLESS you all and all HIS followers.
    We love you all!
    Carlton and Cheryl Buck
