Dear Honey Run Friends,
I was never much of a nature fan, but as I am aging, I find myself mesmerized by the beauty that surrounds my life at The Inn. Two days ago, I was traveling down our back driveway when, just before I crossed the bridge, I noticed out of the corner of my eye a doe enjoying a cool drink from the Honey Run Creek. I stopped to watch for a few minutes. Then her fawn appeared out of the brush and started playing in the creek. This was a picture-perfect spring day in Holmes County — with a cool temperature in the low seventies, no humidity, the sun an hour away from setting, and this mother and daughter sharing their time frolicking in the creek. The mother was vigilantly watching, and looked at me a couple of times. She seemed to decide I was not a threat.
It was at this moment that I realized how lucky I am to have the opportunity to share this time with the wildlife found here at The Inn.
I don’t know why I find nature calming now at this stage in my life, but it certainly gives me comfort. Listening to the sounds of the forest and watching the sun peak through the tree canopy sets the stage for continual serenity. I hope you make the time to experience this for yourself, so you can share in the serenity found here at The Inn at Honey Run.

Your letter beautifully echoes my feelings of the time I have spent at the Inn at Honey Run. Each visit has brought serenity and calm in a world of everything but that. I have always been a nature girl and I always feel privileged when I can spend time among the beauty at The Inn at Honey Run, no matter what the season. And the excellent cuisine certainly adds to the enjoyment.
