Letter from Jason – May 2024

Dear Honey Run Friends,

Spring is in full swing at the Inn. The leaves have arrived on queue and the forest has come alive. This rebirth of the land and plants is refreshing and a great reminder to all of us. Are you facing insurmountable life challenges? Problems at work, home, within yourself? How do you face these challenges? Do you try to fix the issue for yourself? Do you rely on friends or family? Do you ignore the problem until it hopefully goes away? Do you have a relationship with God so you can rely on Him to get you through the dark moments of life?

Life is hard. The evils of this world try to attack us on every front and if we aren’t careful, we can assist evil in this world. But if we can humble ourselves and take ourselves out of the equation and listen to how God wants us to behave, we can also be part of the solution. This is hard to do in America at the present time. Everyone is on the attack and too few are stopping to have a dialogue. We have lost the art of living by the golden rule, do unto others what you would have them do to you. (Matthew 7:12) How did we get here? Why have we lost our humanity?

It is easy to blame the system, government, “them”, or whoever is on the other side of your thinking, but we are all to blame. This problem is not fixed on a macro level but rather one by one. It starts with prayer, humility, and thinking less of ourselves. Then one by one as we seek to treat everyone in our path with love and the golden rule the world will and can change. Don’t mistake me, we will not all agree on everything nor should we. But we can all agree to be civil and learn from each other, allowing our life experiences to grow. This does not diminish our morals or faith, but it allows to learn from our fellow man, and I would argue it would build your faith as God shows you right and wrong in this world.

The earth restarts each year with the seasons and maybe we could take a lesson from nature and put to bed our negative feelings and anger and allow joy and love to be reborn in the spring each year or, each day.

I pray you are enjoying this day for the gift that it is and have the opportunity to give thanks to the One who blesses us all.

Your humble Innkeeper,

Jason

Yes, it is true, Jason life is full of challenges but the only solution is having a relationship with God, walking with Him always by His guidance. He only, He can provide answers to our questions. The world cannot answer our questions since it keeps on changing, not reliable but God Who changeth not, can give us certain and reliable answers.
