To Our Backers: Thank You

Posted on December 19, 2014
in Letters from Jason

What would have happened if Theodor Seuss Geisel had not persevered and allowed the first 27 publishers who had turned him down to kill his will to share his writings? The world would not have learned How the Grinch Stole Christmas or what would happen to The Cat and the Hat. But Dr. Seuss believed and fought to publish his first book, And to Think That I Saw it on Mulberry Street, and Publisher Number 28 gave children’s literature a new way to enjoy the art of reading while exploring a whole new world.

I want to heartily thank each of the backers who pledged to support our open air art museum. While we did not reach our fundraising goal on Kickstarter, we learned that many of you support the idea and are rooting for our progress to continue. Where we failed to motivate action from the outside world in our initial funding drive, we found out internally that our staff became excited and rallied for the cause. This bonding time is valuable in any family, especially in a business family, working to make a special experience for each and every guest in a unified fashion.

While I had high hopes and expectations for our Kickstarter campaign to succeed, life has taught me that no process is easy and I have never succeeded on the first try. So we will count this as try number one and begin our next strategy to share art with Ohioans and the world. While this setback will slow us down, we will not stop.

The Holmes County Open Air Art Museum will be built and we will give the community a cultural experience that blends the incredible natural beauty of The Inn at Honey Run with art. Please keep watch for the new developments and support us in this journey, as the birth of the open air art museum in Holmes County occurs.

Thank you again for your ongoing support.

Wow! what an idea to pay back and restore the God given beauty of the native and primitive surroundings of the Inn at Honey Run…not just a dream but…all things are possible with Him…nothing worthwhile is easy…tell a friend about the pleasures of the Amish and their children…the schools…the animals the slow pace of their lives…the tasty baked chicken and especially the custard homade pie at the B&W…we already have reservations for the Cardinal Cottage for Mother’s Day …May 15 and 16 …looking forward to meeting new friends…Sandy and Jim P.S.Jason make sure to have and extra ice and diet-coke ready.
