Hiking & Biking Trails
While staying at The Inn at Honey Run, enjoy walking one of our seven trails. Full of wildlife and many plant varieties, our trails are a great way to relax and return to nature.
Go biking, hiking and ride the new Holmes County Trail, a 12-mile paved greenway trail (plus another five miles unpaved). One lane of the trail is paved with asphalt for biking, roller-blading, walking, running, and wheelchairs, while the other lane is paved with “chip and seal” for horse-drawn vehicles and horseback riding. The historical Millersburg depot was recently moved to the Hipp Station trail head (at the end of W. Clinton Street), just a few miles from the Inn at Honey Run.
Birdwatching is a popular activity at our Amish Country hotel. Surrounding forest, meadows and on-site nesting boxes provide a habitat for a large number of bird species. Binoculars and birding guides are provided in each guestroom, and our new Yukon NV Tracker 1×24 goggles’ integrated night vision allow guests to glimpse wildlife activity they wouldn’t otherwise see.
Nighttime birdwatchers can scan the treetops for Great Horned Owls, Barred Owls, and Northern Mockingbirds that live around the hotel and grounds. Sure-footed birders can also take the night vision goggles for a walk on The Inn at Honey Run’s private hiking trail system to look for birds and other small animals.
The gift shop at the Inn at Honey Run is open 6:30am – 12:00am. Gift products focus on nature and wildlife, which are a hallmark to Honey Run. The shop contains gifts and decorative items similar to those seen throughout our boutique Ohio hotel, in addition to featured items from local artists. The gift shop is known for its greeting cards, bird items, crafts, books and specialty items.
