Letter from Jason – November 2024

Dear Honey Run Friends,

When I turn on the news and listen to the politicians, I am led to believe that the end of the world is coming with this election if I do not choose the right candidate. While I believe that it is our duty as a citizen to vote, I, like many of you, have grown weary of the childish insults that both sides are flinging. As I was contemplating how to write this letter I stepped outside of my office and saw the majesty of Creation and felt the peace of this world all around me.

So, I choose to trust that God will help us every step of the way. America is bigger than any one person. The United States is a true melting pot of every race, religion, culture, and idea. Our founding Fathers setup systems that ensured that all voices are heard, well not all at the time, woman and people of color were excluded. But we have righted those wrongs, and we continue to perfect our union with every day we move forward.

My prayer is that we unite as Americans and help each other as we move forward as a country and strive to be the best nation on earth. We have mastered being the wealthiest nation in the history of the world, now can we master being the most compassionate? Can we take all our knowledge, wealth, and freedom and use it to bless others? What we choose to do over the next 100 years will either make our country a true beacon of light in the history of civilizations or we will die out like so many great and powerful civilizations before us and we will be just one more example for the history books. The choice is ours, all of ours, in our democracy.

I pray that you all have a blessed fall season and enjoy the fruits of the harvest that are bountiful in our wonderful country. I pray you have time to slow down and hug your loved ones and enjoy all the blessings we have in this life.
